We learned all about its history and got a glimpse into the life of a president on vacation! Next, we headed to Matthew L. Gilleran Field and the Dr. Nancy Foster Environmental Complex. Here, we saw how Key West works hard to protect its environment. We also checked out the retired US Coast Guard Cutter Ingham, a ship-turned-museum that lets you see how the Coast Guard keeps us safe. After a morning full of history, we took a trip back in time to Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park. This impressive, well-preserved fort gives a fascinating look at Key West's past. Of course, no Key West trip is complete without hitting the beach! We relaxed on the beautiful white sand and swam in the clear blue water at Fort Zachary Beach. It was the perfect way to cool off after a busy day. At last, we soaked up the fun vibes of Key West with some live music at the outdoor amphitheater at Truman Waterfront Park.
