TimeFlies in Key West

This is the trailer for TimeFlies in Key West, a thirteen part timelapse series shot over nearly five years, from 2020 to 2024. In just over three minutes it moves across the whole island, from Stock Island to Key Haven, by air, land, and sea, from sunrise to sunset and into the night. The series set out to record Key West the way it is now, tourist spots and everyday local life alike, as a kind of time capsule for the future.

Timeline

Description

TimeFlies in Key West is a 13-part video celebration of Conch Pride: landscapes, architecture, and The One Human Family of America's Southernmost City and The Lower Florida Keys. TimeFlies, a visual pastiche of The Rock, organizes neighborhoods, parts of the island, and surrounding areas from Stock Island to Key Haven through stunning timelapse photography from the air, land, and sea. We strived to document every aspect of the island, from the well-known to the lesser-known, from tourist spots to everyday #ConchLife. With a total running length of 2 hours, it isn't easy to imagine a single video project that encapsulates the entire island more thoroughly than this one. Even during island time, time doesn't stand still. History is created every day. We shot and edited the series over nearly five years. Even during that time, much has changed. The project aims to document and preserve Key West "The Way It Is" now between 2020 and 2024 for "The Way It Was" in the future as a permanent time capsule. Whether the viewer is a local, an aspiring local, a fan, or a former Key Wester with a deep connection to The Conch Republic, TimeFlies in Key West captures the breathtaking Conchtastic imagery found on this four-square-mile island and The Lower Keys. TimeFlies in Key West is a comprehensive, fun, and fast-paced series that you can either binge all at once or enjoy in individual pieces. Join us as we uncover the island's hidden gems and create unforgettable memories. Dedicated In Memory Of Cheryl and Crystal Cates: www.cherylcates.org Filmed entirely on location in Key West 2021-2024
