Stock Island, Key Haven & Geiger Key

This chapter of TimeFlies heads east across Cow Key Channel to the working side of the Keys. It moves through Stock Island's shrimp docks and marinas, where lobster traps are still built by hand on Front Street, then out past the Botanical Garden and the golf course to Boca Chica Beach and the laid-back Geiger Key Marina and Grill. Along the way it takes in Key Haven, campgrounds, seafood markets, and even the old MTV Real World house.

Description

The Landscapes and architecture of Key West are captured like never before in stunning timelapse motion. Over the course of four years, we've painstakingly documented America's Southernmost City and The Lower Florida Keys in this multi-part series, which is a love letter to Key West, a snap-shot of today and a permanent record for tomorrow. Dedicated In Memory Of Cheryl and Crystal Cates: www.cherylcates.org Our adventure through Key West Stock Island, Key Haven, and Geiger Key was a delightful exploration of the region's most exciting locales. Starting our journey at Hurricane Hole on US 1 Northbound, we quickly immersed ourselves in the local culture by stopping at Lazy Dog Adventures. Here, the thrill of kayaking set the perfect pace for our day. Our adventure was a diverse mix of activities. After our water-themed activities at Blue Moon Kayak, we took a break for some retail therapy at Sandal Factory, adding a different flavor to our day. At Chico's Cantina, we were hungry and satisfied. We appreciated the local flavors and visited Fishbusterz Seafood Market, a prime spot for fresh seafood lovers. As the day progressed, we relaxed at Boyd's Campground and nearby Leo's Campground, which offered a serene environment to unwind. Cultural and recreational stops included Bernstein Park for a stroll and El Siboney Restaurant for local cuisine. Our exploration continued along Old State Road 4A to The Docks, where we absorbed the vibrant marina life. Dinner at Hogfish Grill was memorable for its energetic atmosphere and delicious dishes. Our exploration was not just about leisure; it included visits to educational and civic institutions like Monroe County Detention Center and College of Florida Keys. These visits provided a deeper understanding of the community and its various aspects. The trip concluded with a relaxing visit to Boca Chica Beach, a stop at Geiger Key Marina and Grill, and the scenic views of Key Haven. Our final cultural treat was a glimpse of the MTV "The Real World House," adding a touch of pop culture to our rich travel experience. Filmed entirely on location in Key West 2021-2025
