Little Palm Island: Paradise Reborn
In 2017, Hurricane Irma nearly destroyed Little Palm Island, the ultra-exclusive resort off Little Torch Key in the Lower Keys. Chris Sloan shot this drone portrait in July 2020, a few months after the resort reopened following almost three years of rebuilding. It is a personal postcard rather than a commissioned piece, made out of affection for a place long on his bucket list and for the staff who bring it to life.
Description
The landmark Little Palm Island Resort in the Florida Keys was nearly destroyed by Hurricane Irma in 2017. After nearly 3 years of being closed, it reopened in March 2020 more beautiful than ever before yet still retaining its unique charm. I shot this personal video in July 2020 as a personal “postcard from paradise” to LPI which had long been on my bucket list. As idyllic as the location is, the wonderful staff is really what sets this special place apart. This video wasn’t commissioned by Little Palm Island or its parent company, Noble Resorts. It is a personal passion project meant purely for recreational and personal purposes only which may not be reproduced without the permission of the producer.
