Casa Marina & the South Beaches
This chapter of TimeFlies follows the Casa Marina neighborhood along Key West's south shore, from the grand resort itself to the piers, parks, and white sand of the Atlantic side. The film moves through Higgs Beach, the Key West Garden Club at West Martello Towers, the African Cemetery, and the long walk out on Edward B. Knight Pier, ending the day at Louie's Backyard. It is a quieter, greener side of the island, shot in timelapse over four years.

Our day began with a visit to the luxurious Casa Marina Resort & Spa. We then explored the nearby Reach Key West Resort, offering a taste of island luxury, before stepping into John and Mary Spottswood Waterfront Park to soak in the local scene.
The waterfront fun continued as we strolled along the scenic Reynolds Street Pier and relaxed on the expansive white sands of Clarence S. Higgs Memorial Beach Park. We enjoyed the beautiful views while grabbing a bite at Salute on the Beach and even tested our skills on the Higgs Beach Tennis Courts.
Next, we wandered down Atlantic Boulevard, where we popped into shops and restaurants before delving deeper into Key West's natural beauty. The Key West Garden Club at West Martello Towers showcased the island's vibrant flora, while the African Cemetery at Higgs Beach offered a somber yet significant historical landmark.
Our exploration continued at Rest Beach and the Key West Aids Memorial, a poignant reminder of the community's spirit. We then headed to Edward B. Knight Pier for breathtaking panoramic views before enjoying friendly competition at the Indigenous Park Bocce Ball Court.
For art lovers, the Key West Artisan Market was a treasure trove waiting to be explored. Nature enthusiasts were treated to a visit to C.B. Harvey Rest Beach Park and the Key West Wildlife Center, where we learned about the island's fascinating wildlife.
No Casa Marina adventure would be complete without experiencing the iconic Louie's Backyard. We strolled down Waddell Street, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere, before unwinding at the scenic Afterdeck Bar, the perfect place to end an ideal day in Casa Marina.
